First of all, I want to thank you all for this great software. I think it is exactly what I need. That is, if the following situation gets resolved somehow;) I've been given the task to create a live video feed of 3 people stuck in a glass house collecting money for ALS. It's an annual thing in my town and I'm happy to help each year. The stream should contain a live feed of the candidates, with at the bottom a twitter feed, which may occasionally be switched for an sms feed. I should be able to show some other camera positions now and then, but the twitter/sms feed should remain intact, e.g. It shouldn't restart when selecting another camera. The stream is primarily used for local broadcast on 3 big screens. For this I have 3 white screens and 3 projectors. For the video source I have multiple IP cameras available. For my work I did some programming in ActionScript 3; and though it's a bit rusty, I already have created a Flash template that reads the mjpeg feed of an IP camera and another template that displays Twitter messages. All of this should come together with CasparCG. It's the best alternative for Vidigo and should give great control using the template system. Everything must be ready on December 20th. I have no additional except a PC (Windows 7, Intel i7 3Ghz, 16Gb ram, 660GTX Ti + 8800GTX, 512SSD) which should be strong enough to handle anything, and the aforementioned cameras and projectors. I'm looking for a basic tutorial or similar on how to setup a CasparCG server and how the client works. This may be in general, or perhaps spcific to my situation. Most of the stuff I find seem to be for older versions. When I browse the forum, it seems like everybody already knows the necessary basics of this software. I'm using Client 2.0.7 Beta 3 and Frontend 2.0.6. What does the rundown do? I can add multiple templates and videos but it seems I have to 'play' (F2) them manually one by one. Once they're playing they don't seem to have a status indicating they're currently running. Whatever I do now, it's always directly visible in the secondary window that opens when starting the server. Is there a way to preview whatever I added to the rundown? How would I use a transition to switch from one camera to the other, while the twitter feed keeps running? And most important of all, how would I get the generated video stream to be displayed on all big screens? (assuming I have connected all projectors to my pc, desktops extended not cloned. Does the CasparCG server have a video stream I can use? Also, is there some way I can have people looking at the stream via Youtube or something similarusing this stream? (I haven't looked into this yet on how it should work). Thank you for any help. This is far away from a 'Basic' use case. While everything that you want to do is possible as a single thing, doing all at once on one Caspar looks like a bit of too much work load. To let that run stable for multiple hours, I don't know. And it's not good, when a charity event fails, because the technology behind it fails. Don't you know anybody, that can lend you a small OB-van or flight case vision mixer setup? Sometimes they are willing to help for a charity. Event-service companies normally have that kind of gear. Let them be a sponsor of your event and get rid a lot of nightmare. Then you can concentrate on the Twitter feed story, that is a thing for advanced Caspar users by it's own. We did that once, with a client and template, that Jespers created. You can ask him here in the forum, if he is willing to give you his stuff for free (or for a very low price). Thank you for your reply. I should have updated the title after I finished the OP. With 'basic' I initially meant some info about how to setup a server, attach a client and make one or more predefined 'compositions' or rundowns that can be displayed instantly. With this I mean a predefined set of layers where I can just show them all instantly, with some sort of transition or not. No idea if Caspar supports this at all or how it should work. This is just my idea of what I want to do. Today I spent my day finishing the Twitter feed. PHP loads the tweets and stores them in a MySQL database. Using a simple webservice I load the tweets using Actionscript 3. In AS3 I also fade in/out he tweets. Furthermore I explored CasparCG a bit but I just don't seem to understand the interface on how it works. Thanks: 181 Given 1131 thank(s) in 762 post(s). Howto install iGO Primo on WinCE devices. Currently, I'm able to add 2 self-made templates which contain a camera feed and the twitter feed. I have no doubt my pc can handle it. It's easier for me to get better hardware than an OB van or flight case. I actually do know a few people that work for a local tv station, but I doubt they'll lend me their hardware because I don't know how to operate it. I have no knowledge of how a TV station broadcasts their video and how it all works behind the scenes.
